Unvented cylinders are the perfect answer for smaller buildings as they don’t require a storage tank to hold and refill with cold water. Instead, these hot water cylinders are fed directly from your property’s cold water mains.
Pressure is maintained from this feed, and hot water is produced via immersion heaters (direct) or an alternative heat source (indirect). This could be your boiler or a wet solar system. The pressure is maintained by an additional expansion vessel that can be fitted within these hot water cylinders, allowing the water to expand safely as it heats.
Hot water is distributed via outlet pipework, and the replacement cold water pushes the remaining hot water towards the outlets at mains pressure. This guarantees a steady and consistent flow.
